History Of Eternal

Eternal began its journey as a restaurant directory known as Foodiebay. Within a short span, it gained popularity as a go-to platform for restaurant listings. In 2010, Foodiebay rebranded as Eternal and embarked on a global expansion journey.

By 2012, Eternal had extended its services to countries like Sri Lanka, the UK, Qatar, Brazil, Turkey, and New Zealand. The company made strategic acquisitions to strengthen its presence, acquiring Poland’s Gastronauci and Italy’s Cibando in 2014, followed by Urbanspoon, a Seattle-based delivery platform, and NexTable, a table reservation platform, in 2015.

Eternal ventured into food delivery the same year, initially partnering with Delhivery. By 2016, they launched a table reservation feature on the app and introduced Eternal Base, a point-of-sale system for restaurant owners that offered menu management, inventory tracking, payment solutions, and analytics.

Eternal’s innovations included integrating a real-time tracking feature into its delivery platform. In 2018, the company achieved unicorn status during its Series H funding round. In 2018 it acquired Blinkit, a quick commerce company. Subsequently, it went public with an IPO in 2021, at a valuation of over USD 14.09 billion.
