About NHPC
NHPC Limited (National Hydroelectric Power Corporation) is a leading player in India's power sector. It was established in 1975 and completed several projects during its journey. By 1989, the government of India upgraded it from a Schedule ‘B’ to a Schedule ‘A’ corporation. During FY95, the company declared its maiden dividend of ₹5 crore, and in 2009, it got listed on the Indian stock market via an IPO.
The Mini Ratna category I public sector utility, NHPC's primary line of business involves the generation of electricity through hydroelectric projects and the selling of bulk power to various power utilities. Additionally, the company also operates in project management, construction contracts, consultancy assignment services, and trading of power.
